The IR2104 is a high voltage, high-speed power MOSFET and IGBT driver with dependent high and low side referenced output channels. Proprietary HVIC and latch-immune CMOS technologies enable ruggedized monolithic construction. The logic input is compatible with standard CMOS or LSTTL output, down to 3.3V logic. The output drivers feature a high pulse current buffer stage designed for minimum driver cross-conduction. The floating channel can be used to drive an N-channel power MOSFET or IGBT in the high-side configuration which operates from 10 to 600 volts.

Features of IR2104

  • High-Voltage Muscle: Handles voltages up to 600V, making it suitable for driving powerful MOSFETs in demanding circuits.
  • Built-in Resilience: Tolerates negative voltage spikes and rapid voltage changes (dV/dt) for robust operation in harsh environments.
  • Simplified High-Side Drive: Employs a floating channel designed for bootstrap operation, simplifying the control of the high-side MOSFET.
  • Flexible Power Design: Accepts a wide gate drive supply range (10V-20V) to accommodate various power supply configurations.
  • Safeguards and Protection: Features Undervoltage lockout (UVLO) to prevent malfunctions at low voltages and cross-conduction prevention logic to eliminate unwanted current flow.
  • Optimized Switching: Internally set dead-time minimizes shoot-through current during MOSFET switching, improving efficiency.
  • User-Friendly Control: Compatible with low-voltage control signals (3.3V, 5V, and 15V) and offers a shutdown input for safe system power down.
  • Matched Propagation Delay: Ensures both MOSFETs switch simultaneously for optimal performance.
  • Lead-Free Option Available: Caters to environmentally conscious designs.
